Meet Our Team

Reese M. Matye, MS
President & CEO

Reese M. Matye, MS has been addressing issues related to Employee Assistance Programs and Human Resources matters for more than 30 years. Reese served with distinction as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, including tours in Vietnam. It was in the Air Force that Reese began working as a HR Officer and started his exploration of the effectiveness of EAP programs, Since starting ACT in 1985, Reese has been working with a wide-range of social and professional businesses, groups and organizations developing innovative and effective EAP programs, establishing ACT as a leader in the industry.


Kevin Stevens
Agent-of-Record, Product Development Director

Kevin is an insurance professional with over 25 years of experience in developing and managing individual and group programs for a wide range of industries in the greater Pacific Northwest and beyond. Kevin has managed some of the most successful group benefits programs for as diverse groups as Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), the Homebuilders Association of America (HBA) and the American Manufacturers’ Association. Kevin is licensed to sell in numerous states in all lines of personal and commercial product.


Paul Brown, PhD
Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Paul Brown has served clients throughout the northwest for the past 25 years. He attended the University of Portland where he earned his doctorate in clinical psychology. 

Paul serves individuals, marital couples, the deaf-blind, young adults and domestic abusers with psycho-therapeutic skills and resources within individual and group sessions.

Paul has assessed individuals and couples who are suffering from chemical and behavioral addictions as well as mental health assessments concerning military veterans, clients and families who are all affected with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). He also provides therapy and support to clients suffering from adjustment, anxiety and pain control.

Paul has also managed and supervised master and doctorial level students throughout the greater Portland-Vancouver area. When Paul's clients visit, they also enjoy the company of "Mr. Puppy" his four footed therapeudic partner.


Margaret J. Messick
Security Specialist

Margaret brings more than 30 years of experience in private and government based security issues to ACT’s team. Margaret has both run her own securities businesses, and has served as a securities expert at the highest-ranking levels of government. A growing concern for small and large businesses is the increasing requirements for developing and improving internal and external security measures. Whether its meeting new Department of Homeland Security requirements, setting up internal and external procedures for protecting against identity theft and fraud, or establishing basic operating procedures to secure a business’ investments and profits, Margaret brings an exciting new dimension to ACT’s broad range of EAP and business support services.

Margaret and ACT can now assist your business or association in the following areas:

  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures for small businesses related to internal and external security.
  • Developing control systems to protect cash-flow, profits and business investments.
  • Custom, tailored workshops on securities issues (hourly,
    half-day, full-day) for businesses and/or associations.
  • Developing processes for protection against identity theft, financial fraud, embezzlement, bad checks, etc.
  • On-site or off-site evaluation of policies and procedures for businesses related to securities issues.

Rosa Garcia
ESL Specialist

Rosa is our translator and assists in all aspects of helping ACT serve the growing Hispanic and Spanish-language base of clients we serve. She oversees the translation of all ACT materials into appropriate Spanish language contexts (including our Web site and our training materials) and is available to directly assist any Spanish speaking clients for whom English is a second language. Strategic Planning and Executive Coaching

Tom serves our clients helping them grow their companies and coaching for career development. He brings new ideas, different perspectives, professional resources, and senior level management experience to meet client needs.

Karen Pyle
Graphics & Design Specialist

Karen designs and manages the “look” of all ACT material, on all publications and documents.
